She's an actual member of both the café and the performing group. The "A.D." is just a nickname; she was originally a member of a dance cover group that came to one of the early episodes of TsunTube, and when Tsunku saw her, he said "Whoa, I thought you were a production assistant."

Well I think some girls want to be in Morning Musume and once you don't pass an audition you can't really try again as Tsunku has proved.

lol what, havent some girls auditioned multiple times before being picked? Like Reina for example lol. I swore there was a list I compiled with Saebaryo not too long back

Reina was too young when she auditioned the first time. Because of that she didn't get picked. But apparently he liked her and so Tsunku hoped that once she auditioned again she hadn't changed much - which it turns out she hadn't, for 6th gen.
