The new-gen members have more substantially soled shoes with a significantly lower heel (as usual), but Yuumi seems to have her own category of footwear The sole is black and it's a zipper instead of laces (Velcro next time? ). Maybe she gets mad when other members accidentally wear her stuff

If you look at the promotional poster, Mao is wearing the same zip-up black-soled boots--they're just obscured in the pic from the live perf.

Even the white ones have three very different sole types. Chunky ridged, rippled, and smooth. Maybe it just comes down to them picking which type of shoe they feel most comfortable with.

You guys are right. I didn't notice the subtly different rippled sole that Riko and Ami are wearing - it should be more "all-terrain" compared to the smooth one. The chunky-ridged one is cute The black sole is reserved for the extreme dancers Or yeah, they just choose whichever one they like.
