At her birthday event today, Morning Musume. '21 Yamazaki Mei announced that she is releasing her 1st Photobook titled "Mei16" (Mei Sixteen) on August 21st!

Morning Musume. '21 Yamazaki Mei's first photo book "Mei16" (read: Mei Sixteen) is now on sale!
The first photo book, shot on Amami Oshima Island, features her in a variety of outfits, from swimsuit, uniforms and one-piece dresses to her usual panda wear!
A 32 minute DVD making is included as a bonus!

Release date: August 21st, 2021

I'm so happy because when I first shot this two years ago, I didn't think this would become a book. I want to rejoice in the finished product with all my might! In the beginning, I couldn't open my eyes when the sun was strong or I was shy to show my forehead. There were many things that happened, but it gave me a chance to study my own poses and expressions. I hope you can feel the growth in the difference between my latest cut and the one right after I joined!

In the photo taken right after we joined the group, our faces were so stiff with nervousness that it made me laugh (laughs). I hope you can feel the friendly atmosphere of the 15th gen from the photos!

Mei's comment
The highlight was the closeness of the 15th gen. The distance between the three of us, which was awkward at first, gradually shrinks and we become more and more natural. Just looking at the photos of the three of us having fun in our matching uniforms is enough to make you smile. This is my treasure, filled with memories of going to various places and taking pictures with 15th gen. I hope a lot of people will see it!

Due to the 3rd state of emergency announced, the release event for Tsubaki Factory Asakura Kiki's new photobook on April 26th has been postponed. It will be rescheduled to when it is safe again.
