Here are two clips from artists that are kind of mirror images of each other, one being non-Japanese singing in Japanese, and the other being, well, the opposite of that.
The first is from a brother-sister preteen duo that hail from the trendy Maboneng precinct of Johannesburg, South Africa and go by the name of
Biko's Manna. They're covering
Hakujitsu, a track by the Japanese group King Gnu and is worth
a listen on its own.
The second is a clip from a couple of years ago but recently showed up on my YT feed, by the London-based group
Superorganism, which is fronted by 20-year-old Orono Noguchi, who comes from Tokyo but spent her formative years in Maine, USA. I'm posting the song
Night Time as a sample of their work but really I could've picked any one of their videos, which are all crazily creative and fun. For sure also check out
