Remember when Aika had a sudden graduation announcement and they just added her last minute to Risa Niigaki's graduation date?

Yeah... multiple girls have graduated on the same day as one another. They even graduated three girls from Morning Musume girls on the same day in December of 2010.

I don't really care that girls are graduating in March prior to the end of the tour dates, I'm more surprised that they had to push Funaki's graduation date to a later point in the year when she had wanted to graduate earlier. Why couldn't they just both graduate together in March?

It's certainly seems odd for her to skip the queue to the point that Musubu had to stick around longer.

Having said that, I don't think the reason is necessarily bad. It could be a very good reason.

Imagine the following scenario

MUROTA: So like I was saying, I've been thinking about graduating. Maybe around the end of the year.
RANDOM ASSOCIATE: Cool, cool. Too bad you're not leaving now, there's this AMAZING OPPORTUNITY I know about that would be really good for your future.
MUROTA: Yeah but there's no way I can leave now. Musubu's graduating and it would screw up our tour if both of us left. So I'm stuck til at least the end of the tour.
RANDOM ASSOCIATE: What an amazing sense of duty and honor you have. I'm so proud to be your random associate!! Anyway, good luck, don't call me unless anything changes.
MUROTA: *SIGH*
Weeks pass.
MUROTA: *SIGH*
FUNAKI: Enough with the sighing!! I'm not THAT much in a hurry -- I could stick around and you can leave first, how about that?

Yeah I guess it makes sense, she’s been in discussions since the end of 2018 just as Kana and Rina had, it shows how much Ayaka graduating held back. Of course I’m sure Ayaka hadn’t meant it to go this way. She was the Leader and one of the last OG S/M - ANG member, and Funaki had discussed it while the future of CG was in discussion in late 2019, so I guess it make sense that Muro graduates before Musu.

I swear if after Musu, Rikako suddenly announces she is graduating, I won’t be surprised if she also had discussed this late 2018 . All that is left is Akari and then all S/mileage members will have graduated.

I kind of expected this, but that doesn't make it any less saddening. In my eyes she's become one of those members in H!P you know? Such a huge, fun and loving presence. I hope that whatever it is she ends up doing, that she'll be happy doing it. Yeah, I think members/friends/staff were well aware she was going to leave, honestly. After reading some blogs of ANGERME members and members of other groups she's close to, I got the impression they were simply waiting for the announcement to talk about it
