Is this their first actual concert overseas? Miki's reaction has me a bit confused. Didn't they have a concert in HK a while ago?

The probably don't really consider east asia as overseas since they can literally come and leave on the same day.

NYC was an actual concert, as opposed to an anime convention, but since that was Morning Musume。’14, less than half of the current group was there.

El Plaza Condesa is a nice and decent size looking venue. Its not a cramped venue.

Its located in a cool looking upscale neighborhood for younger people in La Condesa.

tickets are more expensive than the New York concert.

There is a Ghandi Bookstore at the Mexico airport in Terminal 2 to pick up your ticketmaster will call tickets, but you might have to go through security. Open from 11 am to 8pm. There are plenty of Ghandi bookstores around the city too around hotels.

The airport Gandhi Bookstore is definitely within the security area. According to the Ticketmaster website:
ESTE MÓDULO SE ENCUENTRA EN LA SALA DE ESPERA DE LA TERMINAL 2.ACCESO ÚNICAMENTE CON PASE DE ABORDAR

I was waffling on this right up to the moment that tickets went on sale, but I bit the bullet and bought a VIP ticket. I don't expect to be going to Japan anytime soon, and I probably wouldn't get a handshake event and a signed poster there anyway. Plus, I'm getting some extra cash from freelance gigs this year, so what the hell. Flights and accommodations are cheap enough that I'll be able to do the whole trip (including food and concert goods) for under $1000.

We're getting a lot more for our buck this time around. A signed poster, a handshake and some sort of fan event the next day

First and probably last time to Mexico. Now starts the hard part of saving up my money and getting myself into concert shape.

Compared to the usual prices and perks of VIP tickets, it's a pretty good deal. My VIP ticket for SCANDAL in San Francisco cost me $10 less and only includes admission, early entry, meet & greet, and an exclusive gift; the gift probably won't be autographed, and there's no extra fan event the next day. The VIP ticket for BABYMETAL in S.F. was about $25 less, and we didn't even get to meet them.

Be sure to make time for sightseeing! There's plenty of cool stuff to see, and public transit is insanely cheap: Metro to any station in the system costs only five pesos (24 U.S. cents right now). I especially enjoyed the Museo de Arte Popular and the Museo Nacional de Antropología when I was there in 2015. I'm definitely going to allow myself an extra day to go to Teotihuacán and see the pyramids this time around.

Apart from airfare and the concert, everything will be inexpensive. Lodging, food, and transportation are all cheap. Cab fare from the airport to my hotel (about 10 km) was 195 pesos (about $13.15 then). My most expensive meal in Mexico City cost only 200 pesos. For the whole time I was there, from Thursday evening to late Sunday afternoon, I spent the equivalent of US$218, over a third of which was for ℃-ute concert goods. The remainder included not only food and transportation, but also a few gifts, a couple of books, admission to four museums, and tips for my taxi driver and hotel staff. That entire trip cost me $881 ($504 for airfare and three nights in a one-star hotel, $159 for the ℃-ute VIP ticket).
