No one would ever beat Sandaime J Soul Brothers for first place, so that's a
very respectable second place.

I'm intrigued by the contrast between the Billboard and Oricon charts. The numbers for Sandaime J Soul Brothers and Kiyoshi Hikawa are fairly consistent, which indicates that they are mainstream, while Morning Musume and UP10TION show the inflated numbers typical of idol groups, just to different degrees. It's a great example of why Oricon changed their rules, and it makes me wonder if the K-pop wave would have been as big as it was if Oricon had these rules all along.

79K woah isn't that quite the drop they've been doing on Oricon lately? I wonder why? This single has tons of promotions

Its the new Oricon rules.

^ The last single was released under the rules, was it not? Either way, I would like to see them hit the 100,000 mark on Oricon again over the next few weeks just to continue the pattern. It's less likely with this gap - but I can hope.

So I'm hoping to maaaybe go to the release event in Aichi. It's 5 days after ℃-ute's concert and someone very kind on Twitter (who lives in Japan) helped me with entering the lottery thingy. I was planning on going to Kyoto/Osaka, and Aichi's on the way, so it would be a good excuse.
If it doesn't end up happening, oh well. It's worth a try, though.

Tbh I only pay attention to the billboard sales and the billboard sales are pretty much the same as the last single.
If billboard sales go down I will care. I hate the new oricon rules. I think they are bogus.

Only "BRAND NEW MORNING" is at #2. "Jealousy Jealousy" is at #77.
The HOT 100 chart is determined by a combination of sales, streaming, and radio airplay. In short, it's mainstream buzz.
