Rikako is a star waiting to happen, so it makes sense to give her the Maki Goto treatment from the start. I honestly believe that they changed the name of the group with her future in mind. I can't remember ever being so excited for a new non-MM H!P member before.

I see Rikako as a member they're trying to invest for the future. I can see her as Ayaka's replacement, which I don't see happening until a few years.

In contrast, I see Murotan as the member that is changing the current group.

To be less snarky, it seems to me Murotan is getting more the "Maki Goto" treatment. In a song that got 2 solo lines, Murota got one of them, and she has a ton of face time. Rikako has zero solos, though she has a lot of facetime.

But Maki doesn't really work for anyone, she was her own generation.

@AyuHikaru: which is pretty much similar to what I said about Mutotan. I sorta didn't wanted to use Gomaki as a comparison because it's currently unknown how everything will turn out, but sure...

Taiki Bansei isn't a good comparison since all of 3rd gen have plenty of screen time (which is typical for releases with new members), but the push she instantly received compared to the others is very apparent. She's also the 3rd gen member that have been the most active with promoting the single.
