100K still feels so great to see them get. And so many appearances @_@ so excited!

Also, my boxset finally got here and I hadn't realized that the trading cards are ACTUAL trading cards this time around, so I'm pretty ecstatic about that, cause I love the feel and weight of actual cards

^^^Yeah, Easter is pretty much non-existent in Japan. I didn't even realize that was this weekend until yesterday. So no days off

Japan doesn't really do (non-traditional) religious holidays, right? And with things like Christmas they completely change it, so it's no surprise Easter's not a thing.

Also, I'm surprised people are bitching about the sales (even slightly). They're still gonna sell over 100k and still gonna get weekly #1, and as long as they manage to do that it's still really great.

It's kinda the same way with the TV performances. As I've said, I'd rather have them perform TokiSora, but honestly? I'm just pleased they're getting on TV at all. There were years where they had hardly any promotion.

I'm still not really used to all the exposure and the higher sales and stuff, since for the majority of the time I've been a fan they were in a bit of a slump sales wise. Feels weird (but good), man.

The group is becoming a household name again. The next step is for individual members other than Sayu to become household names, and a few of them (like Kanon and Erina, interestingly, instead of the aces) are already halfway there. Then it will feel really weird.

I for one, don't care about high sales. What I care about is longevity. If this single can stay afloat after the first week, I'll call it a job well done. There is no need to see AKB size sales. That just doesn't happen anymore.

I really love TokiSora, so I would like to see them perform it more.

I don't care about sales too much, but it is nice to see them selling well. It means people are paying attention to them, and that's always a good thing imo .

Obviously I'm still gonna be a fan no matter how much they sell, but as someone who was around when they were only selling 30k per single, it makes me super happy to see them selling 100k+ per single nowadays. Selling this much isn't easy, and I think people forget that most groups sell a lot less than what MM。(and even the other current H!P groups) do.

Considering MM。were the highest selling non-*48/*46 girl group in Japan last year in terms of singles*, they're doing pretty fucking well.

*Counting albums, they were 3rd behind MomocloZ (unless you don't count their compilation album of indie releases) and E-girls.

I know you guys think sales aren't important, but if they continue to decline Morning Musume won't be getting on all of those TV shows, or the billboards or the commercials. Sales did matter when Morning Musume was at 40k because they were a reflection of the loss of the groups popularity. And they matter now because the increase in sales is a reflection of the groups rise in popularity. Also without high sales the girls can't top the oricon charts. They have been getting a lot of respect for topping those charts.

The sales only don't matter right now because, sales are still up, they are still charting number one, and they are still getting tons of exposure. As long as the group maintain this level of exposure they can continue to take in more fans and make themselves well known to the casual fans. But the goal of all this promotion would have the affect of raising single sales. If the sales go down after all that it means that something's not working

And the only reason AKBs sales don't matter is because they can fart and sell it for millions. They are already at the top. They made it. Now they can sit back and enjoy the spotlight.

I don't think it's wrong for me to want Morning Musume to reach that same level of success. Sure I'm like you guys and will love them regardless, but I want the rest of Japan to love them too. I think with Sayu and the girls hard work they deserve it.

So in conclusion... I am a little nervous about the sales drop, but I don't think it's cause for concern just yet. As long as they stay steady in sales over the next few singles and do not continue to fall then everything is A-OK! But you can't say that the sales don't matter. They really do mean something.

the CDTV performance was really cool. the set was huge a like huge stairs set. but the camera work needs work, it was all over the place. they played the au CM during the break.

^There is definitely a difference. But, just "taking their time" with everything won't make them survive in the spotlight. They need to be pushed a bit and think more about it if they wanna survive and especially if they wanna become as big as/bigger than the girls during Golden era was. Tsuji and Kago were all out there even after just a year of joining, after all.
Sure, the times are different and things were scripted differently back then and all, but that still shows that even 12/13 year olds back then could do it. Then sure as hell 14 year olds today could if they'd try/be allowed to. Whichever it is.

Hm maybe you're right. I just remembered that one time when Kanon said something like her fans shouldn't continue cheering on her because she suc*ed as an idol and was just wondering if it wasn't because she was pushing herself too hard. I mean, it won't be good if these things happenned.
