It was a joke. Kanon even brought it on herself as she was the one pointing out that she has a different body type than the rest of the girls.

Roughly what was said:

It's variety. Kanon has been going with the whole "I'm chubby" ever since the beginning of this year so this way it just gets played with. It's not anyone being mean or whatever.

Let's just remember that it's TV and that Kanon has been going with this ever since January and she pushes the fact that she's chubby, more so than anyone else. Just like how Sayu used to keep making fun of Eripon's KYness, Ayumi's lame jokes and style at MCs or such, it's how she tries directing the attention to them and giving them a chance to make themselves memorable.
