[6/19] Berryz Kobo 32nd single: Golden Chinatown / Sayonara Usotsuki no Watashi

Hmm I thought they looked uninterested too in Want to be honest and not much better in Asian Celebration which kinda annoys me a bit. It's supposed to be a celebration but I really can't feel that mood from the song or the girls. They look very subdued and the smiles halfhearted.

They did definitely turned on their genkiness to the max in Be Genki and Cha Cha Sing though so there's still hope...
It's come to the point where I'm praying for whoever the schmuck directing Berryz to be replaced after this single

Well, I can relate to them, Be Genki and cha cha SING are the best singles they have had since Shining Power.

I think they looked interested in Want. Not excited but they didn't look....like they did here. I thought they looked properly excited and energetic during Asian Celebration. Even those awkward DJ scenes that only Captain worked.

I don't like the PV. Even for H!P it's pretty plain and uninspiring. The outfits look nice with the background, but besides that it just seems uncreative.

Faint praise, but yeah, me too.

It wasn't mind-blowing or anything, but I didn't really feel critical about it at all. Berryz are Berryz. It was ok. I'd put it above AC but below WANT! which was my jam for a while.

The outfits were nice. I really liked the tops that Socko and Maasa had on. They were both lookin thick in a really nice way.

It was obvious, though, that Berryz were the oldest group in that episode. Yurina and Captain are straight-up women, not "girls" at all any more. I feel that some of the girls aren't ready to drop that kind of "I'm an innocent girl" posture yet, but they're getting too old looking to pull that off. They need to figure out how to transition smoothly into adult idolhood. By that I don't mean necessarily acting seductive, but merely acting their age, mentally. Obviously the worst culprit being Momochi but also to some extent Chinami and Maasa.

First off I like this song. I'm sure it's just me who thinks this but Berryz Kobo is the best H!P group musically since 2011.

Now for the PV.

It's not the train wreck that seemingly people are making it out to be ::takes a sip of Berryz bias flavored kool-aid:: the big issue is certain people. Like Chinami dear goodness she does NOT know how to work the camera at all. It's very disappointing when the background fodder brings little effort, and makes a negative impression. She's feast or famine right now. Maasa honestly isn't much better. Momochi... well those pigtails are part of what gets her paid so what can you do? Risako and Miyabi honestly I didn't notice too much. They didn't screw things up so that's good. Yurina I like in this. She's more mature. Winner however is Captain. She has some really hot dance moments and she's on point throughout. It's really not how I expected the PV to be but whatever, it's still alright.

I'm really liking this song, it's very catchy, and marks probably my longest Berryz streak ever. (like every song since Cha cha sing a lot, sadly Be Genki ruined it, it'd have been a longer streak )

While I don't really care about PVs being cheap, I gotta agree that they don't look interested at all in the video...
Wonder when they shot it? Maybe it was a tough day, you know with all that Budokan stuff on blogs, maybe it was just around the days C-ute announced their Budokan concert or something. They do seem like they're not into the PV, look like really tired in their dance...

So, maybe there was something in their minds, or they were really tired indeed. I can only think of those...
