Regardless of the success of this campaign, anyone else feeling iffy about idols turning to crowdfunding?
Especially for an at this point very established group (although 'technically' still indie) like UUG.
You could make an argument that idols have been crowdfunded by their very nature from before the concept even existed.
The whole point of idols is fans supporting them, that includes financially.
By buying goods, paying to be fanclub members, buying CD's, concert tickets,...
If all that doesn't pay to keep things running, I'd say you have a deeper problem.
Adding crowdfunding on top of traditional financial support feels like they are trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Either that or someone at Y-UM is creaming off a substantial amount from the top and putting it in their pocket.
