J=J, what the fuck happened?
#17 daily? ON THE FIRST WEEK!?
...
is that a new low?
What happened?

"is that a new low?

"
nope.
Berryz Koubou in example have had a few singles ranking at #19 in their first week, with Aa, Yo ga Akeru and Ai no Dangan.

I was referring to a J=J low, but yeah i guess that's true.

That was in the "H!P = eh" era, when H!P wasn't doing so well though... wouldn't expect it to happen now though.

This probably isn't the case, but TIF might be affecting sales in that people are spending money on TIF stuff (tickets, CDs, merch, etc) instead of buying new releases. Obviously dedicated wota will still buy things, and not all J=J fans are into other idol groups (I've heard they have a lot of younger female fans), but it could still be a contributing factor. Also, they might not have enough time to go to the store to buy things (physical releases are still a thing in Japan).
Either way, they're still selling a LOT better than most non-H!P/*48 female idol groups so there's really nothing to complain about imo.
