Why does everyone write "UF*" with the star????

Speaking for myself, because Up-front uses or has used Up-front Artists, Up-Front Group, Up-Front World, Up-Front International, and more that I'm not gonna look up right now because I'm on my cell. Which subunit is responsible for what is sometimes unclear, so rather than guess, I sometimes use a star as a wildcard. Prolly makes more sense just to say UF, no star, but old habits die hard, and most of us know what it means anyway.
