tbh I was expecting more airplay of Kimi no Kawari. like for the promo ads on TV they would use the song or something, or even just commercials about sochi with the song. but i've yet to see anything.

if you are in a JAL flight in February, you will see Morning Musume. '14's Kimi no Kawari wa Iyashinai on their audio playlist "J-POP Today", JAL is the official airline for the Sochi Olympics

Where there tons of cm's and TV use of the SMAP London 2012 song?

Moment was TBS's official song for Olympics so they continue using it since Nakai-san is one of their casters.
I don't know about other channel or cms though.

PS. one of Arashi's song (Road to Glory) is NTV's (or at least New Zero's) official song for Sochi, so expect that song in NTV more than MM's song.

it took awhile but, Japan won their first 2 medals of the Sochi Olympics just now! Both Silver and Bronze together in Snowboard Halfpipe. congrats. they are quite young.
