SCANDAL are now the holder of the Guinness World Record for "longest running rock band with the same musicians (female)."

Congrats to SCANDAL!

But does this record only apply to current lineups of current bands? Or is a band out of the running if they had any personnel changes before or after the long stretch with the same lineup? If not, Shonen Knife's original lineup should still have SCANDAL beat for at least a few more weeks. Naoko, Atsuko, and Michie were together from 30 December 1981 until Michie’s departure sometime in February 1999.

EDIT: TsuShiMaMiRe’s original lineup was together for at least 17 years, as well: from sometime in 1999 until Mizue left in January 2017.
