I feel like I'm in a nightmare...

By replacement, I was only expecting her to be in the dance shot and NOT the actual close-ups. The fact that it seems like she's the main featured member of the PV makes me really disappointed at the editors.

I really hope it's like Starra said, that it's a rough edit and not the official promotional edit.

Ayumin got no close ups, but she was centre in the choreography (as was Karin). Her inclusion in Ijidaki was really well received; I wonder if UFP got a hold of that and decided to use fillers as means to cross-market their groups/girls. Like it or not, MM fans who don't know about Juice=Juice and are intrigued by Karin in this PV will look up J=J. On the other hand, J=J/Karin fans are more likely to check out/buy this single.

Okay, I wont deny this. I never noticed Ayumi until Ijiwaru, so I looked her up, and I figured out about her being a skilled dancer, Daaishi feeling, being MM's shortest + rapper, and I grew fond of her.

But, I still think that regardless of if cross marketing is good, I (for now) object to it to be done to this extent (atleast the extent it appears as in what we have seen) for this specific single mainly because of what Jessi said; "When Karin is featured more than the 4 new members". The new gen is essentially competing with Karin in their debut single. I know, there's 3 songs, but the girls barely sing as is, its not like they got the Maji desu ka treatment and got lines, they just have screentime to make do with to show appeal, and theres already 8/9 other girls in the group for screen time too, and Karin further hinders that.

Again, the full video isnt out, we dont know what the rest looks like, if the final product is as Karin biased as this, or if this is just a special Karin ver or rough edit or H!S ver meant for the already H!P fans who watch H!S, etc., but this is essentially my opinion of what we have seen from that video. Whether or not it changes depends on the official PV.

Well at least people are being civilised enough to not be mad at Karin herself . I was worried people would be blaming her somehow (hey, it happens).

Also, as for not doing this with Aika's injury: I feel like that UF is different than this UF somehow. Something's changed behind the scenes since then, and they probably just didn't think. I know 2012 wasn't that long ago, but the way UF does things now is pretty different.

This is all speculation of course, and hell, we'll probably never know why they decided to make this MV so Karin-centric, but hopefully they'll learn never to do it again.

I'm loving this. This is as close as I'm going to get to my bygone dream of Riho and Karin in Morning Musume together.

Well, I guess if we look at this positively, 1) People got a chuckle out of it (some people atleast...) 2) The whole Karin in MM dream thing is "lived" 3) I guess depending on the reception, UF learns something from this little experiment.

Yeah, no, blaming Karin herself for having screentime in an MM PV is almost like blaming Zukki for her injury and allowing Karin to show up in the first place

Yeah, UF seems to have changed relatively quickly, hasnt it. I mean, I was only in the fandom since early 2013 but 2 years later it seems like a lot has changed in how things are done.

Well, I mean, some people were blaming Aika for graduating at the same time as Risa and thus "taking away Risa's spotlight" or whatever, so hey. It's happened before.

Oh I see...well, I guess I should know by now that there's a lot of possibilities when it comes to this fandom...

I forgot to mention this since I kept "ranting" about Karin, but 12 gen looked stunning =) Miki and Ogata looked great, Maria with the hair looks gorgeous, and I love Akane's expression, she really has a way with that (or at least a way that seems interesting to me).

This fandom is like ordering a caramel latte and then getting it and saying "hey! I said gimme a chocolate latte..." and they take back your caramel latte and bring you a chocolate latte and you say "Wait, I DID order a caramel latte..."

Pretty much this. Not to mention, it's a simple "Promotion edit" which really is basically the same as "Hello! station edit" anyway.
And, by being upset about it and posting a lot about it - I think everyone might just do exactly what UF hoped for --- create a buzz nd bring attention to one of the A-side (and not to mention to Kanon, too) for this single that it wouldn't have gotten otherwise. (Possible) marketing strategy, I love it. And even if it wasn't intentional, it's working. This will be picked up somewhere, I'm sure.

Also for those who go "But Kanon could at least have been in the closeups!!" -- no she couldn't. Not only was she physically injured, she got the flu and was out for a really long time -- during which she most likely didn't work at all. It'd be stupid and honestly to have her come in when she's in that bad shape.

Gyao video has a short preview of the Yuugure wa Ameagari MV. its only available to view in Japan. Karin is filling in for Suzuki Kanon. They don't even try to hide her for Kanon's sake. There are some awkward shots where she looks like she doesn't belong. There are way too many shots of her which could have been Kanon's.
