the guy to the right of Momo (leaning in) was at AnimeNEXT. he shook Bryan's hand and thanked us at the end of Hello! Party 3 (so he tells me, i must have been elsewhere). he and Gabby did the Yurushite Nyan Taisou at the hotel restaurant (when the wota, again, proved to always be equipped with whatever is needed to hijack a television).

If what they say is true, Airi might have helped her come up with it. But even if she did come up with it herself, I doubt she copyrighted it correctly. She's young. But it does get her on tv shows and tv shows=gyara=money.

You can't copyright a two word expression. It could be trademarked, but by definition a trademark is a work used for commerce. It is controlled by a business, not an individual creator, unless the business happens to be owned by the creator of the mark. So unless Momoko has set up something like The Yurushite Nyan Licensing Co by herself or with business partners, then if there is a trademark on Yurushite Nyan, it would be owned by UF* or one of their divisions. And even then, they can't stop other performers from using the phrase any more than McD's can stop you from saying their name. They can just prevent others from making Yurishite Nyan t-shirts, mugs and the like.

Even if she'd make 11% of all the Yurushite Nyan stuff on top of her regular monthly pay-check it would be already be something.

But now I also see that she isn't credited as the writer of the song (Tsunku wrote it), she won't be making direct money from releasing the single.

Not that she has to worry about being paid, with all the major TV work that she does she already has the biggest pay-check out of all the Berryz.

It doesn't matter if Momoko "invented" Yurushite Nyan or not. She didn't even "invent" the pinky finger thing. (Yossie stretched her during a match as retaliation.)
