LOL this addition kinda feels like some kenshuusei program promo,
"Mizuki is amazed that Kaede worked so hard for 4 years in Kenshuusei. Yokoyama has also only been in Kenshuusei for a few months after not passing the first 13th gen audition"
so its now like "audition for morning musume!" where we'll make you a member of kenshuusei! it might take a few years, but it's a possibility if you continue your training and the regular payments to the program.

Regardless of anything else I really like that they chose girls that feel different from each other, both in looks and general vibe.
Yokoyama wasn't topping lists for me, but she's definitely cute and I'm intrigued by her apparently having much more musical ability (or at least interest) than was initially let on.

Wow I'm legitimately surprised
First off I had a deep seeded feeling that Reina would get in and I was right. Literally she moved up my ranks in KSS and was battling Kurumi for who my fav non Ruru member would be. She won? One of my absolute favorites out of 19 girls? I'm super happy.
Second Kaede was a shock. And my first thought was considering the two vets in our poll that were winning were Kaede and Ruru I was a bit saddened that Kaede won out over Ruru. But I'm also happy for Kaede and happy for all the jplop Kaede fans because they've been dedicated for a long time and she was also very talented and in danger of falling into obscurity. She's not one of my favorites but looking at her on stage with the girls she does have a MM feel, but an older one. Maybe that's because she reminds me of Fukuda Asuka in looks and Hitomi Yoshizawa in personality. That said I'm pretty nervous for Ruru.
Third the two winners were picked right out of the top 4 on our poll and now convinced that someone from H!P lurks our forum. Zunu you have some explaining to do. Reveal yourself!!!!

I admit I lost hope for Kaga, I'm a very bad fan. Now I must come crawling back on my knees begging forgiveness.
She's actually one of the most interesting characters they could've chosen, she seems to be capable of amazing strength and fortitude but amazing frailty at other times. This should really be the confidence boost she needs, I think she'd also learnt all she could as a trainee and needed to be in group to progress further... now it's the biggest one.
I'm happy though they added two that means no mass graduations in the future and they had the mix I thought would be good for just two - One very experienced and one of the newest.

Hopefully she ends up as centre because Sakura's boring as fuck and also let me actually like an MM。 front girl for once in my fandom history, please. Other than Riho I haven't cared about any.
You sure your not going to stop liking her if she does become the center of MM? There are some people who tend to just always hate who is getting the most attention because it takes away from the other girls and with Kaede's dedicated fan base I wonder if they would turn on her the moment she becomes a Riho esque center. Not that im accusing you of doing that, but it's a legitimate concern I have and I wonder what you think about it.
My other feeling right now is that Kaede is giving me Miki Fujimoto vibes. That being she is 13th gen but she sort of jumps over 12th in both age and experience. She may become center much sooner than 12th. She has an experience gap from her other gen mate. And she's coming in with her own following/fan base.
Other other feeling: Sakura, Maria, and Kaede are shadow 11th gen, 12th is really a 3nin gen and Reina just debuted as a 1nin gen
