yeah, the statements are very generic.

the most specific thing i found is about her future when Tsunku says this..
"After graduating I'd like her to challenge herself little by little with plays and singing and new things.
In the 7 months until her graduation I think the 'Stylish Mano Erina' of now will have growth and become a 'New Mano Erina' in front of everyone."
and that's still pretty vague. ._. i'm getting JunLin vibes in that i'm sensing he's giving up rather than trying to finish what he started, and is just ready to move on and so he doesn't really have an excuse to give. it's not "the time has come to think about the next stage in her life" and it's not "she has attained her goals and with this timing will move on" and it's not for health, or because she's decided to focus on studies/home life, or because they decided to focus her career on acting, or anything really.
i'm still hoping that she's going to work with Kikka, but it's seeming less likely (not that it was likely to begin with). the statements were too generic, no vague references to having something planned, even.

Sometimes, businesses decide to concentrate on their core product line, and drop all other development and marketing efforts. Maybe that's what H!P/UFA is doing -- I think it's fair to say that their core product line is Morning Musume, Berryz, and C-ute. They've definitely been putting a lot into MoMusu, with the 9th and 10th generations, and now 11th gen is about ready to step onstage.
if you're manufacturing and selling things, like software, or snack food, or baseball bats, you can usually just quietly drop a product from ongoing development, manufacturing, and support, often without announcing it at all. But when you're selling people -- idols, images, entertainers with fans, and with lives and ambitions of their own, it's not that easy.
To be even halfway decent about it, you have to say something -- something positive, or at least considerate and diplomatic. So it sounds like H!P/UFA is being pretty good about it -- letting her go (rather than just dropping all promotion and putting her career on the shelf, like Avex apparently did with Parago, for example), and giving her a positive sendoff. But it does sound like she's no longer part of their business plan.
I hope she does well in whatever direction she chooses to take (acting seems like the best bet, but who knows how it will turn out).
