Wait, why is Up-Front getting blamed for this. Clearly from her announcement Gaki wanted to graduate with Takahashi all along but UF asked her to hang around for the transition. (And no doubt to give Aichan the singular send-off she deserved.) And there was no surprise that she wasn't going to be around for long. Even as the "leader" she's been kind of in the background.

I am just thrilled at the prospect of Sayumi finally being billed as "Leader of Morning Musume" during her frequent appearances. She is sure to push for maximum kawaisa under her reign.
