Also a rite of passage to fall asleep on a train lol, which, if you’re flying in to Narita, just happens right away on the way to Tokyo.

^ One time when I was on the train from Narita to Tokyo, a girl sitting next to me kept dozing off and was constantly on the verge of leaning against me. But just before she would make contact, she would straighten up. She did this a few times, and after she got off the train, the Korean family seated across from me had a laugh with me about it.

I totally forgot about the sleeping on your shoulder thing!
I guess if she's cute the appropriate response is, "let me buy you a tea to wake you up" :D
I did get the oscillating one sometimes too. It makes you think about what kind of communication might be happening.

Yokohama Chinatown is so densely packed with shops I'm still relying on Google Maps to get to and from my hostel. I have the day off tomorrow so I'm thinking of doing a day trip somewhere (that doesn't required a lot of planning, like I'm saving Hakone/Mt. Fuji for a different weekend).

Less than 2 weeks left in Japan. :crying: At the point where I'm figuring out what to buy to bring back, in addition to a new luggage (found a place that had them for like under 4000 yen though).

Welp, I was in the middle of watching a movie last night, came back from getting a drink to unpause it, only to find my PC frozen. It restarted, I expected it to boot up like normal, except it didn't. "No bootable device found." Tried a few different solutions and not a single one worked.
Long story short: I had to buy a new SSD, install Windows 10 from scratch, and keep getting a "fatal device hardware error" on the old SSD. I didn't have anything particularly important on there (99% of my stuff is on external drives), but I did have 10,000+ fonts I'm kind of pissed about losing. On the plus side, my PC is running way faster with the new drive!

I bought this PC refurbished so I didn't expect much, but I really should've replaced the SSD back when I put in a PCIe WiFi/Bluetooth card.

I'm not asking for any advice, I just needed to rant a little. :mikihead:

I sympathize...

I've been having so many problems over the past few months with my desktop. Like you, most of my data is on external drives but due to a faulty setting I had (don't ever turn off virtual memory kids) my graphics driver broke mid-upgrade and bricked my PC. In a fruitless quest to resolve the problem I ended up reformatting my SSD a few times and losing some incidental stuff similar to your fonts. It turned out there was a way to fix my problem without reformatting, but it was convoluted and non-obvious. On top of that Windows Update has recently been acting weird as well, getting stuck in a loop without updating anything. It's happened to me on my desktop and two laptops, all from different manufacturers, including a brand new one. The solution to the latter problem is to use System > Recovery > Reset this PC, and then to reinstall an up-to-date version of Windows in place over your current version. But they don't make that obvious at all.

I've just been using my work Macbook like it's my own for the past 3 years, and there's zero issue. :mikihead: My personal Macbook from 2015 is also overall fine but the last time I used it was just for The Sims 4.

I don't do anything fancy on the computer though. :smiling:
