Actress and H!P fan Matsuoka Mayu announced that she is getting married to Hey! Say! JUMP (STARTO Entertainment) member Daiki Arioka. An H!P fan marrying a member from a rival company.

She's just putting into practice the timeless maxim of the great military strategist マイケル・コルレオーネ: "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."

Thank the gods, they return at long last…

Spoiler: show
So far, this has been an amazingly faithful adaptation of Campaign 1 of Critical Role, and the details revealed in this teaser/opening indicate that it will continue to be. Of course some things will be lost when you compress hundreds of hours of live gameplay into a 48- to 60-episode animated series (four seasons guaranteed, hoping it will be five), but they're still capturing the essence of it all. This is a work of love.

The state of play at the end of Season 2:

- Two members (Brimscythe, the Iron Storm; Umbrasyl, the Hope Devourer) of the Chroma Conclave have been slayed;
- A third member (Raishan, the Diseased Deceiver) has infiltrated Whitestone and revealed herself to the council-in-exile there;
- The fourth and fifth members (Vorugal, the Frigid Doom; Thordak, the Cinder King) are preparing for something big in Emon;
- Vox Machina have recovered four Vestiges of Divergence, but not without hardship and loss, and they continue to search for more;
- Percy's nemesis, Dr. Anna Ripley, is still at large;
- Scanlan's daughter, Kaylie, is somewhere out there as well; and
- The Spinning Anti-Magic Orb of Death™ is still spinning atop the ziggurat under Whitestone.

I've watched many Tosouchuu Run for Money TV specials over the years, and the unnecessary dumb Netflix episodes as well, but I never expected them to make a movie out of it too now :tmi: :wacko: They turned this one into a permanent death game.

One of the actresses in this movie who plays a support role (@ 1:03), Ririka Tanabe, also starred in the 2022 drama Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san Second Generation New Years SP. OCHA NORMA sang their version of "Ramen Daisuki-san Koizumi-san no Uta" as the theme song.

Classic shoujo series, The Rose of Versailles, is getting an animated movie next spring.
(CC for English subs):

Original Work: Riyoko Ikeda

CAST:
Oscar François de Jarjayes: Miyuki Sawashiro
Marie Antoinette: Aya Hirano
André Grandier: Toshiyuki Toyonaga
Hans Axel von Fersen: Kazuki Kato

STAFF:
Director: Ai Yoshimura
Screenplay: Tomoko Komparu
Character Design: Mariko Oka
Music Producer: Hiroyuki Sawano
Music: Hiroyuki Sawano, KOHTA YAMAMOTO
Animation Production: MAPPA
Production: The Rose of Versailles Production Committee
Distribution: TOHO NEXT, Avex Pictures

Sponsorship: Ambassade De France au Japan/Institut francais

MAPPA doing a shoujo series is crazy to me. Have they ever done one?

Two years after the initial announcement, the information "ban" on Witch Hat Atelier's adaptation has been lifted:

Original Work: Kamome Shirahama
Director: Ayumu Watanabe (Komi Can't Communicate, Summer Time Rendering, Space Brothers)
Character Design: Kairi Unabara (SPY x FAMILY season 2, The Heike Story, The Colors Within)
Music: Yuka Kitamura (Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Elden Ring)
Animation Production: BUG FILMS (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead)

I adore this series so I'm really looking forward to this.

For anyone other than me who still cares, a preview of the coming Season 3…

Gilmore in Ank'Harel? Huh. (IYKYK)

Also, an animatic for the Mighty Nein series that's being produced concurrently…

No, there's no connection to the other video above. It's just a coincidence that the action is essentially the same. Different time, different city, different guards, but a common trope.
