Yeah, but try telling that to those who oppose those saying that who are preferably male, that are..i dunno; probably 18+ ? We don't get those luxuries that you females do. That if a male likes a young female idol (as in, he's over 18 but she isn't), he's automatically a pedophile or whatever. Even as a girl, I find that stupid.

i DO think there's a double-standard, but i also think that outside of jpop fans (and even some of those) most people would find anyone over the age of 15 (including girls) being severely interested in a U15 celebrity (particularly japanese) to be weird and possibly creepy. especially when it gets to showing how much merchandise you own of said girl(s). i think most of the people i've told about my jpop interest have not been aware of the idol side, and so they react with either surprise, curiosity, or confusion.. when/if it gets into idol talk they are definitely kind of weirded out (i'm a girl, but married and 26 years old lol).

now if i were to tell them one of my favorite girls is 13.. well i'm sure they'd be questioning my intentions or just plain think i'm a freak. they probably wouldn't jump to the conclusion that i'm a pedo perv, but being put in a category next to that guy that gets tattoos and plastic surgery to make himself more like a tiger (whisker implants.. *shudder*) is not that much better. ^^;

As for Maimi's looks I could write thesis on that subject. But I don't really have a computer right now and I ain't doing it on the phone. But I would think girls would find her pretty cause her attractiveness to me comes from her being pretty. Like for example, Miyabi is really attractive to me cause of her looks but also her ultra femininity. Yurina has a really nice physical frame. Airi has very emotional eyes. Eri and Eripon both have a unique look and intense eyes. Reina has a cool style and adorable smile. I could go on and on naming off people, non-H!P, non Jpop, non Asian, and everyone its gonna be because of their looks and, or they're pretty AND, and Maimi its just cause she's pretty. REALLY pretty. Her face is amazing. Like, there's nothing to even nitpick about it. Her and Sayumi are the only H!P'ers I would say are roll right out of bed pretty. Like alarm goes off, outta bed, walking outside in PJs, blowing the doors off of people. It's almost like to me she isn't a Tsunku girl. He likes them girls that aren't gonna blow you away that first time seeing them, but you start noticing them after a few times and see all the nuances and then you start to like them. Yea, this ones just pretty, day one. Hell, when did I start liking Maimi? Off a pic of her on a H!PS card. I ain't know who she was, all I knew was she was jailbait. Hey that could be why there's girls that don't like her. Too plain-ish. Nothing quirky or special. She's like artwork in your house. Serves no purpose but to look attractive. Yu Hasebe fits that same bill too. And I CLEARLY like her a lot too. Anyway, I went longer than I wanted.

I think if you took a vote on who is the prettiest in H!P, I think it would come down to those two. They're pretty much perfect. Of course, bias plays a role in these sorts of things, so you would have to ask only non-fans.

I'm a girl and I think Maimi's really pretty, particularly because she always has a very natural look.

Girls and boys see female beauty in a different way, and I've seen few girls find Maimi that pretty, but many of us guys do find her extremely attractive. Her facial features are just about perfect and she has a rocking body, even if a bit thin.

After Sayumi, I'd say she's the prettiest idol, at least for me. I've seen different takes on beauty ofc, beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say, but I believe there's certain trends. Some girl may have few people that find her pretty (call that girl "ugly"), and a girl may be widely accepted as a beauty, I think Maimi falls in the later category

Just looking at her in still pics, sometimes Yossi is hot - but the way she talks and carries herself is so unfeminine to me that I can't find her attractive. I'm certainly not her target audience though, so it doesn't matter much.
