The fact that Up Up Girls is a "provisional" name makes me think of the the MTV animated series Daria who had a minor character who led a garage band named "Mystic Spiral". Throughout the run of the series it was always mentioned as "Our band name is Mystic Sprial, but we're thinking of changing the name" which always made me wonder if the band name was really "Mystic Spiral, but we're thinking of changing the name".

So maybe "Up Up Girls (provisional)" is their real name?
