That's why I'm in such awe of Tsoonk: he chooses many of these girls in the middle of or even before puberty, and yet somehow, almost all of them grow up to be stunningly attractive.
Sure, a large part of that attractiveness comes from their idol makeovers and training, as well as the stage presence they develop over time. But still, those are some damned good genes at work there. For example, compare Maimi circa 2002 to Maimi today — which of us could have foreseen that?
Even the less popular, not-quite-perfect girls have some nice features: large-framed Maasa has a classically beautiful face and hair; granny-voiced (and granny-boned, apparently) Aika has a great body; and so on.
