Re: Mano Erina to graduate from H!P in Feb 2013

What I was trying to say earlier is mostly just that it's more fun and interesting when there are many girls than when there is just a soloist. With groups, they can do better and more unified dances (vs. soloist + back dancers), we can complain about line distribution and get excited when our favorite underdog gets a solo line and it sounds awesome, we can discuss how each girl looks in the outfits for the new single/album/etc, we get concerts and performances with shuffles, etc.

I like idols because it's fun to see their friendship and teamwork, so overall I enjoy groups more. (I know there are friendships between different H!P acts, but they work with their group members the most.) People say things like how one-member generations in MM seem lonely, and soloists seem even lonelier.

Jessi wrote:Its the same person. Your nitpicking at this point since I know everyone understands that by mentioning Koharu as a soloist your really saying Tsukishima Kirari. Also she was H!P. She was on the H!P page as an H!P artist. Thats like saying Buono! Isn't H!P because they were originally made for Shugo Chara. Buono! is H!P.

But see, Buono! weren't characters. They just had tie-ins. That's why they're still around. Tsukishima Kirari's songs were specifically made for Tsukishima Kirari and not anyone else. They were written/composed for the character, not for Kusumi Koharu.

Sorry, but in my mind Kirari =/= Koharu. Koharu portrayed the character, yes, but essentially her solo stuff was a bunch of character/image songs. It's why I don't consider most seiyuu to have solo careers until they release something that's not a character song or a theme song to an anime where they're the main character.

Mizuki Nana, for example, has done a lot of solo releases that have not been tied to anime, but she started off doing theme songs/character songs. Koharu could have released solo stuff post-Kirari as strictly Kusumi Koharu, but she didn't.

Tl;dr: Kirari's songs were made for a character. Buono!'s were not.

I'm gonna short list that for the most obvious statement of 2013.

No, I'm not. My point was that it's not right to compare Buono! and Koharu-as-Kirari, because they were created for different purposes.

Tbh I'm just glad Koharu never did anything solo (as far as singing goes) outside of Kirarin.

If you want to be so nitpicky, those singles and albums were released under the name Tsukishima Kirari starring Koharu Kusumi (Morning Musume).

There's usually some acknowledgement of the seiyuu, though. Character songs tend to be released as "Character Name (CV: Seiyuu Name)". But they're still primarily a release related to their character. If that makes sense.
