Maybe also its quietly transgressive nature. Sort of like having a tattoo in an intimate region that few will ever see. At the very least, it's a hell of an icebreaker with the gaikokujin.

And if I handed her money and told her what I was into I'd be in the wrong.

The image has been circulating on mainstream Japanese outlets like Nikkan Sports and Cyzo, and is being republished on major news sites like Infoseek News and Livedoor News. There is also a thread on 2ch, Japan's largest online forum, on the tragic wardrobe choice.

I want a 痔 shirt now.

I'm guessing that the makers got the kanji confused with 侍 (samurai).

Will never understand how the makers/designers don't doublecheck these things @_@

Super late, but I watched the show where she wore that dress, and the thing is... they cover up "whore". Like, they never show it. You can clearly see the "I am a" part, but whenever there's a shot of the "whore", there's a little popup info box or whatever covering it. The only reason people saw it are because of the pictures... So, the show realised somewhere along the lines and were like "Uh, shit".

Yep
FBS does a flawless job of completely censoring Ai-chan’s “I am a whore” T-shirt!http://wotaintranslation.com/2014/06/18 ... e-t-shirt/142: 名無し募集中。。。 2014/06/15(日) 23:56:56.69 0.net
The staff, too, must’ve realized this was their only option. It makes me laugh so hard when I imagine everyone in the editing room getting together as one, going “Alright guys, let’s do it! We’ll weather this storm using telops!”

They must’ve pulled an all-nighter working on this.
After all the work in the editing room is finally finished, the staff collapse in exhaustion and fall asleep within moments. As a young female staff member (28) staggers out of the editing room in order to go home, the director (35, divorced) says “damn good work today” and throws her a can of coffee.
