I don't know if it warrants a new thread, but Michishige Sayumi will retire from the Entertainment Industry after her summer tour this year, with the final performance being in August.
tldr: she's citing growing concerns about her OCD, which she had been treating for a year and a half now (and perhaps the reason for some of her recent health-related absences), as a reason for retiring.

Here's her blog post: https://ameblo.jp/sayumimichishige-blog ... 60651.html

As machine translated:
Spoiler: show
To all my fans

Thank you for your warm support.

I have something to announce.

I, Michishige Sayumi, will end all activities after the concert tour scheduled for this summer.

I'm sure you're surprised by this sudden announcement. I'm sorry.

I love my fans.

I want my fans to listen to me about both happy and sad things!

I'll do my best because I'll be able to see my fans!

That's how I've lived my days.

The time I spend performing live is the most fun,

being in that space, seeing the pink scenery, is what makes me happiest.

On the other hand, in the past few years, as soon as I get off the stage and am alone, I can't get the anxiety and fear out of my head, and I've felt unstable every day.

I know that my actions to feel safe will ultimately lead to anxiety again, but I just can't stop, and it feels like I'm deliberately seeking out anxiety, and it's been a difficult time for me.

I was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder at the end of last year, and to be honest, I was relieved.
I continued to work while restricting some of my activities.
However, I also feel frustrated that I cannot resume the work that I have been restricted from,
and I increasingly feel that I may no longer be able to do some of the work that I was able to do before.

I began to feel that it would be difficult to continue my activities under such circumstances, that I had reached my limit,
and consulted with my company each time.

And now, I have made this decision.

Today, January 19, 2025, marks 22 years since I entered this world.

During my 22 years in the entertainment industry,
my fans have always been by my side.
I am truly grateful. Thank you so much.

I will miss not being able to see you all,
and I will make you all feel lonely.
I should know this better than anyone else, having experienced a break, so I am sorry that I have had to make this choice.

With about six months to go until the summer concert tour, I want to do everything I can to express my gratitude.

And, although it may be selfish, I want to laugh and have lots of fun with all my beloved fans.

Please continue to support me until the very end.

A lot of idols battling mental issues. I wonder if it's a specific hazard of the job, or it's just more visible because they lead such public lives?

That really sucks. OCD is such a horrible thing to live with. Hopefully, once she retires, she'll be dealing with less stress which will hopefully make her OCD manageable, if not get it under control.

I just kind of skimmed through Nakky's latest video so far, but I think she's camping out in her car right now, at campsites, while exploring other bits of NZ XD

She looks a bit more tanned if I'm not mistaken... Saki-tan :smiling: :fear:
And she started titling her videos in English since last week :hmmm:

From the Seven Colors Audition, new girl group moxymill's debut single 'Living Free' Story MV

With special cameo appearance by Yamazaki Yuhane (She is not part of the group, but an inspiration for the girls to keep moving forward without her.) She definitely would have been in the final lineup if she didn't have her injury.

With the theme of "women's independence," we wanted to create a cinematic representation of women from different eras taking a step forward on what they believe to be the right path, being true to their hearts.
Since it was the first time for all the members of moxymill to act in a music video, we were a little anxious, but on camera, we could see the effort and passion that the girls have accumulated so far in their expressions and performances, and their passion and enthusiasm were captured in this video work. I believe that the passion and feelings of the girls were embedded in this video work.

- Director Nobuaki Hongo

About Yamazaki Yuhane's performance
Yuhane was the only one who withdrew from the audition program.
Both the performers and the management at the time felt a great sense of loss as they entered the LA filming before they had a chance to say their proper goodbyes.
Yuhane's feelings were also immeasurable as she withdrew from the program in the middle of her ambition.
This project was realized out of the members' desire to support Yuhane's future and her desire to support moxymill's departure.

The MV shows moxymill and Yuhane's paths going their separate ways.

The charm of this MV is "POP" (Kitazato Rio represents the charm "POP", so she is the center of this MV)

They will find a 7th member in the future to represent the charm "BEAUTY"
